Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane is set to be transferred from Rupandehi District Jail to Dillibazar Jail in Kathmandu. Currently under custody over the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, Lamichhane has expressed a desire to be moved closer to the capital.
Lamichhane requested the transfer after the Supreme Court extended his detention period, making it more practical for him to remain in a location with easier access for legal consultations and family or party interactions.
“Since he will be in custody for a longer period, he wanted to be closer to his family and political colleagues,” said an RSP source.
