A flood has washed away the dam of the 8-kilowatt Wangkhola Small Hydropower Plant in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4, Sankhuwasabha. The incident happened on Wednesday in the remote area of Golama.
Police estimate the damage at around 3.3 million rupees. Due to the difficult terrain, it took the police two days to reach the site on foot, said DSP Daksh Kumar Basnet.
Authorities are still collecting detailed information about the damage. The remote location and rough geography make rescue and repair efforts challenging.
