Ahan Shetty, who made his Bollywood debut in 2021 with Tadap, is gearing up to star in a new action-drama, marking his first foray into the action genre. The young actor will collaborate with acclaimed Bengali filmmaker Birsa Dasgupta on this untitled action film. While the female lead is yet to be disclosed, sources say the casting is underway, and further details will be unveiled soon, according to the Hindustan Times. Insiders revealed, “Ahan has signed on for an action-packed film directed by renowned Bengali director Birsa Dasgupta, with production by Shibasish Sarkar and Ribhu Dasgupta.”
This upcoming project will mark Birsa Dasgupta’s debut as a director in Hindi cinema, although he has previously directed popular Hindi web series such as Mafia, Black Widows, and The Magic of Shiri. Shooting for the film is slated to start in October this year.
Ahan, son of veteran actor Suniel Shetty, is steadily carving out a niche for himself in Bollywood. Besides this action film, he is also set to appear in Border 2, which is slated for release next year.
