BTS Members Jimin and Jungkook Officially Discharged from Military Service

On June 11, 2025, BTS stars Jimin and Jungkook completed their mandatory military service in South Korea, marking an important milestone for the popular K-pop group and their global fans.

Military Service Completion and Ceremony

They were discharged after serving 18 months as active-duty soldiers. The two appeared in their military uniforms during a ceremony held near their former military base in Yeoncheon, located about 60 kilometers north of Seoul. Hundreds of fans and media gathered to greet them as they saluted and posed for photos.

Heartfelt Words from Jimin and Jungkook

At the ceremony, Jimin thanked fans for their patience, saying, “It’s been a long time with COVID-19 and military service, so thank you for waiting for us. We look forward to showing you a better side of ourselves soon.” He also expressed respect for fellow soldiers, asking fans to support those still serving.

Jungkook, the youngest BTS member, shared how unusual it felt to be back in front of the camera without any makeup and thanked his fellow soldiers for their support during their service.

A Warm Welcome Back from BTS and Fans

Just a day before Jimin and Jungkook’s discharge, BTS leader RM and V completed their military duties on June 10. Jin, the oldest BTS member, finished his service last June, and J-Hope was discharged in October 2024. Suga is the last member scheduled to finish, with his discharge set for June 21, 2025.

To celebrate their return, J-Hope shared a heartfelt video on his Instagram Story, which fans widely appreciated.

What’s Next for BTS?

With all members slowly finishing their military duties, fans eagerly await the full reunion of BTS. The group, famous for hits like Butter, Fake Love, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and Boy With Luv, is expected to come back stronger than ever once Suga completes his service.

Military Service in South Korea

In South Korea, all able-bodied men between 18 and 28 years old are required to serve about two years in the military. BTS members were allowed to delay their service until they turned 30, giving them time to focus on their music careers before fulfilling this duty.

Their discharge marks a hopeful new chapter for BTS and their dedicated fans worldwide.
