BTS star Kim Taehyung, better known to fans as V, is officially back! On Tuesday, V and fellow BTS member RM completed their mandatory military service in South Korea, much to the delight of ARMYs around the world. The duo made their way to Chuncheon after their discharge to take part in a special fan event.
To mark the occasion, V lit up Instagram on Wednesday with a series of never-before-seen photos from his time in the military. From action-ready snapshots to quiet, reflective moments, the post offered a rare look into his life in uniform.
In one image, V is seen immersed in a book while seated in a chair, fully dressed in his military uniform. Another candid shows him inside a car, snapping a selfie. He also posted a group photo featuring fellow servicemen in formation, along with a casual selfie from a basketball court. One striking picture caught fans’ eyes—V flexing his toned physique during a gym session. He captioned the post simply, “Love me tete,” referring to his nickname.
A Grateful Farewell to Military Life
V and RM both enlisted in December 2023. RM served with the 15th Infantry Division Military Band, while V took on duties with the II Corps Special Task Force—a placement known for its intense training and elite assignments.
After stepping out of service, V expressed his gratitude: “To all the ARMYs who have waited for us in the military, I want to say I am truly, truly grateful. Please wait just a little longer, and we will return with a really cool performance.”
At the Chuncheon fan event, RM serenaded fans with a saxophone rendition of the Case Closed (Detective Conan) theme song. V, beaming with joy, stood beside him holding two vibrant flower bouquets.
