New Cyber Security Bill Registered in Nepal Parliament

The Government of Nepal has introduced a new law focusing on digital safety. On Asar 1, Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, registered the Information Technology and Cyber Security Bill in the House of Representatives.

This bill aims to support the growth and regulation of information technology in Nepal. It also focuses on protecting information and data stored or shared in cyberspace.

According to the proposal, the bill will help ensure the authenticity and reliability of digital records and electronic signatures. It also plans to improve how existing cyber laws work by revising and combining them under one legal framework.

Minister Gurung said the bill was brought forward to better manage the use of digital data and to strengthen Nepal’s ability to deal with cyber threats.
