Young Woman Caught with Huge Drug Stock in Kathmandu

In a major drug bust, 20-year-old Manisha Thakur was arrested in Kathmandu on charges of selling and distributing illegal drugs. Originally from Janakpur, she was living in Kathmandu-15 when police raided her room based on a tip-off.

During the search, police recovered a shocking 21,500 tablets of Tramadol, a banned painkiller often misused as a narcotic. Along with that, officers found:

  • 260 vials of Phenergan
  • 260 vials of Diazepam
  • 260 vials of Nufin
  • Cash worth Rs. 225,800

The drugs and money were seized on the spot. Authorities have obtained a 7-day remand from the Kathmandu District Court to investigate further under narcotics-related charges.

This arrest highlights growing concerns about drug abuse and illegal pharmaceutical sales in Kathmandu’s urban areas.
