A tragic accident occurred in Banke as a man lost his life while trying to save his wife from an electric shock.
The incident happened in Kalrampur Syali village of Baijanath Rural Municipality-2. According to police, 73-year-old Khadkalal Jaisi died on the spot Wednesday morning after being electrocuted while attempting to rescue his wife.
The couple was using a hand pump motor to draw water at home when Khadkalal’s wife got electrocuted. Seeing her in distress, he rushed to help but ended up receiving a fatal electric shock himself.
His wife, who was also injured in the incident, has been taken to Kohalpur Medical College for treatment.
Police say further investigation is ongoing.
