Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati Postponed: VFX Delays Push Back Release Date

Anushka Shetty’s much-anticipated film Ghaati, initially slated for a theatrical release on July 11, 2025, has now been postponed due to unfinished VFX work. Although the film is not heavily reliant on visual effects, certain sequences require meticulous VFX, causing the delay.

Producer Rajeev Reddy shared the update with Filmfare, explaining the reason behind the postponement: “We coordinated with several studios for the VFX, but one of the studios was unable to deliver the work on schedule. This forced us to push back the release.” Originally, Ghaati was expected to hit theatres on April 18, 2025, but the release was later pushed to July 11 before this latest delay.

Rajeev further revealed that discussions with distributors and exhibitors are ongoing to finalize a new release date. “Ghaati promises to be a gripping experience, and we want to do full justice to the story by ensuring a top-quality final product. We are committed to giving it our all before announcing the new release date,” he added.

The film’s shooting took place extensively across locations like Lamtaput, Machakund, and Anakadeli town in Odisha’s Koraput district. Fans can expect to see Anushka Shetty in a striking, never-before-seen avatar.

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Ghaati also stars Vikram Prabhu, Ramya Krishna, and Jagapathi Babu. The first teaser was released on Anushka Shetty’s birthday, sparking excitement among her followers.

Anushka Shetty, known for her roles in blockbuster hits like Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion, Lingaa, Bhaagamathie, Nishabdam, and Miss Shetty Mrs Polishetty, continues to impress audiences with her versatile performances.
