Popular Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar was found dead in her Karachi apartment under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, July 8. Her body was discovered in a severe state of decomposition, shocking fans and neighbors.
The incident took place in the Ittehad Commercial area of Phase VI, Karachi. Humaira, aged between 30 and 35, had been living alone in her flat for the past seven years. Neighbors raised concerns about a strong smell and noticed no activity from her for several days, prompting them to alert the authorities.
Deputy Inspector General Syed Asad Raza said police arrived at the apartment around 3 pm after receiving complaints. “The body seemed to be several days old,” he stated. When no one answered the door, officers forced entry and found Humaira’s lifeless body.
The exact cause of death is not yet known. Officials are currently treating the case as a possible natural death, but an investigation is ongoing to rule out other causes. “Forensic teams quickly collected evidence from the scene,” DIG Raza added.
The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for further examination. Dr. Summaiya Syed, leading the autopsy, explained that due to the advanced decomposition, determining the exact cause of death will be difficult.
Police have asked the public and media to avoid rumors and wait for the official results of the post-mortem and investigation.
