A 13-year-old boy has gone missing after being swept away by a flood in the Bagmati River in Madhavnarayan Municipality-8, Rautahat. He had gone to collect floating firewood with another local boy when the incident occurred.
According to police:
- Sushil Paswan (13) was swept away by the sudden flood and is currently missing.
- Shivji Paswan (13) was rescued safely by locals and police.
The boys had gone to the riverbank near their home when a sudden surge in water level trapped them. Locals immediately called the Armed Police Force, which aided in the rescue operation.
A video of Shivji stranded mid-river waiting for rescue has gone viral on social media. However, police clarified that the video does not show the boy who is missing, and that misinformation is spreading online.
Search efforts are ongoing for Sudhir Paswan, the missing boy.
