A 52-year-old man has been arrested in Kathmandu for allegedly forging official documents of government offices, police departments, banks, educational institutions, and even political parties.
The suspect, identified as Safaraz Khadka from Dharampur, Jhapa, was arrested by a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Asar 31 from Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.
Forged Stamps, Certificates, and Holograms Seized
According to CIB spokesperson Yubaraj Adhikari, Khadka had been involved in producing fake documents for the past two years. The seized items include:
- Fake rubber stamps of banks
- Forged academic certificates
- Counterfeit holograms from TU, CTEVT, HSEB, and NEB
- Documents from land revenue offices, ward offices, tax offices, and even political parties
Investigation Under Way
CIB has taken five days of remand from the Kathmandu District Court to investigate further under charges related to document forgery.
