Journalist Rabindra Prajapati found dead at home

Journalist Rabindra Prajapati, aged around 30, was found dead in a suspected suicide case at his home in Katahariya Municipality–5, Rautahat, on Saturday night.

According to DSP Deepak Raya, spokesperson for Rautahat District Police, Prajapati was discovered hanging at around 9:00 PM. Family members immediately took him to a nearby health post and later to Grandi Hospital in Garuda, where doctors declared him dead at around 10:00 PM.

Prajapati was working at Katahariya Musical FM and was active in the local journalism field,

Police have stated that he had been dealing with family-related stress in recent days. In addition, in late Jestha, Mayor Jayaprakash Jaiswal of Katahariya Municipality had reportedly threatened him over a news report. This may have added to his psychological burden.

Although the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, initial police findings suggest that a combination of family issues and professional pressure could have led to suicide.

His body has been sent to Gaur Provincial Hospital for postmortem. The Rautahat District Police Office has started an investigation into the incident.
