A large quantity of illegal marijuana has been seized from a private car in Garuda, Rautahat. Police discovered 133 kilograms of marijuana packed in 13 bags inside a car near the Jhajh River.
The vehicle, registered as Ba 3 Cha 6796, was coming from Chandranigahapur and heading towards Gaur. When police from the Garuda Area Police Office attempted to stop the vehicle for inspection, the driver sped away and later abandoned the car in a dense bush area about 20 feet below the road level.
According to DSP Rajan Karki of Garuda, the driver escaped, leaving the car in a grass field near the river. Police used a crane to recover the vehicle and seized the marijuana from inside it.
Even though the driver managed to flee, the police found the driver’s license and vehicle documents inside the car. DSP Karki confirmed that a search is ongoing to locate and arrest the people involved.
