After years in the making and a fair share of setbacks, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi’s fantasy epic Vishwambhara is finally in its last leg of production. Directed by Vassistha of Bimbisara fame, the film has been one of Chiranjeevi’s most ambitious projects in recent times.
Initially slated for a Sankranthi 2025 release, the film was postponed due to subpar VFX, which drew criticism when the teaser dropped on the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s birthday. Responding to the feedback, the veteran actor reportedly asked the team to completely rework the visual effects to match audience expectations.
Now, to give the film a fresh boost of excitement, a special song featuring Bollywood actress Mouni Roy and Chiranjeevi is being shot in Hyderabad on a lavish set. This marks Chiranjeevi’s return to a full-on dance number after quite some time and is expected to add mass appeal to the project.
Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead, reuniting with Chiranjeevi after their 2006 film Stalin. The music is composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravani, adding yet another big name to the film’s already star-studded team.
With the shoot wrapping up after this special number, the makers are aiming for a grand theatrical release during Dussehra 2025. Described as a high-fantasy drama in the vein of Chiranjeevi’s classic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Vishwambhara is riding high on anticipation.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi has already moved on to his next film, directed by Anil Ravipudi and co-starring Nayanthara. But all eyes remain on Vishwambhara as fans eagerly await an official release date announcement.
