The first teaser for Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, directed by Santosh Singh and starring Vikrant Massey and debutante Shanaya Kapoor, was unveiled on Thursday. Clocking in at under a minute, the teaser offers a poetic glimpse into a love story where emotions take center stage — even as sight takes a back seat.
Love Without Sight?
The teaser opens with compelling visuals — Vikrant donning dark sunglasses and Shanaya blindfolded, setting the tone for a narrative that appears to question whether love really is blind. Described as a musical romance steeped in the magic of first love, fleeting moments, and inevitable heartbreak, the film teases an unexpected connection between two strangers that blossoms into something deeper.
Although the teaser is light on plot, it makes up for it with mood and intrigue. In a poignant moment toward the end, Vikrant’s character gently asks Shanaya, “Is it safe to say love is blind?” — a line that echoes the theme of the film.
Star Reactions and Fan Buzz
Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut has already created waves. Her father Sanjay Kapoor expressed his excitement with a heartfelt “Jai Mata Di,” while her mother Maheep Kapoor flooded the comments with “Love love love.” Navya Nanda joined in the cheer with an enthusiastic, “Wohoooo Shan!!!” and Anjini Dhawan added celebratory emojis.
Fans were quick to react too — some praised the fresh pairing and the dreamy music composed by Vishal Mishra, while others speculated whether the film draws inspiration from Ruskin Bond’s short story The Eyes Have It. One fan commented, “Finally Shanaya has entered Bollywood,” while another wrote, “She’s going to kill it. I have full faith in this debut.”
