Actress Arunima Lamsal’s second marriage is also facing problems. Less than a year after getting married, she has filed for divorce from her husband, Yuvraj Shrestha.
Speaking in some YouTube interviews, Arunima confirmed that she has officially filed for divorce. She said Yuvraj did not keep many of the promises he made before marriage. She also admitted that choosing him was a mistake.
“What I heard before marriage was all good things. But after the wedding, everything I heard was bad. I decided I’d rather be single than spend my life with someone dishonest,” she said.
She revealed that she hasn’t spoken to Yuvraj for the last five months. According to her, Yuvraj married her only to go to the United States.
Arunima said she has always been honest in every marriage. “Whether it’s the first, second, or third, I always think marriage will be good. I always stay positive,” she added.
The couple had a religious wedding at Ram Mandir in Kathmandu on Bhadra 3, 2081 (around August 2024). Before that, they had a legal marriage at the Sunsari District Court.
They had only known each other for a short time before marrying, with help from their families. Just a few days after the wedding, Arunima returned to the United States. She said she has never even been to Yuvraj’s main home after the marriage.
As a U.S. citizen, Arunima filed the divorce case through a representative in Nepal. According to Nepali law, if both husband and wife agree, the divorce can be completed quickly. But if there’s no agreement, the court can grant a divorce automatically one year after the case is filed.
Yuvraj has not made any public statement about the situation so far. Arunima, who lives in the U.S., returned to Nepal two weeks ago.
