Actor and racer Ajith Kumar faced a scary moment during the GT4 European Series in Italy when his car crashed at the Misano track during the second round of the race. Thankfully, he walked away unharmed—but what he did next earned him even more respect than his performance on the track.
Ajith helps clean up debris after crashing
Instead of leaving the scene after the accident, Ajith stayed back and helped the race officials clear debris from the track. This rare gesture impressed many, including fans and fellow racers.
The official GT4 European Series page on X (formerly Twitter) shared a video of Ajith standing near his car and assisting with cleanup. He had collided with a stationary vehicle, but wasn’t injured. “Out of the race with damage, but still happy to help with the clean-up. Full respect, Ajith Kumar,” they wrote.
Commentators praise his sportsmanship
One of the race commentators was heard saying, “There’s Ajith Kumar out of the car, out of the race, and that’s really the first significant bit of damage we’ve seen from him this year.” Another added, “Because he’s a fine chap, he goes and helps the marshals clear up all the bodywork. Not many drivers would do that.”
This act of humility and sportsmanship won the hearts of many, proving that Ajith is not just a skilled racer but also a true gentleman.
Ajith Kumar’s racing journey
Ajith began his racing career in 2003 with the Formula BMW Asia and later competed in the Formula 2 Championship in 2010. After taking a break, he made a comeback this year with the 24H Series, racing under his newly formed team, Ajith Kumar Racing, in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup category.
Taking a break from films for racing
The Tamil star has not announced any new film projects yet, as he has decided to focus on racing until the season ends. Earlier this year, Ajith was honored with the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian cinema.
He was last seen on screen in Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, and Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran.
