Ajith Kumar’s New Tonsured Look Fuels AK 64 Buzz; ₹180 Cr Salary, Srinidhi Shetty Likely to Join Cast

Ajith Kumar continues to surprise fans — and this time, it’s not just his fitness transformation that’s turning heads. A few weeks ago, the Tamil superstar stunned audiences by debuting a leaner, more toned physique. Now, he’s making waves again, this time with a clean-shaven, tonsured look that has set the internet abuzz with speculation.

The actor’s recent appearance with a completely shaved head quickly went viral across social media platforms. Fans couldn’t help but question whether the drastic new look is tied to his next film with director Adhik Ravichandran. The duo previously collaborated on Good Bad Ugly, which, despite receiving mixed reviews, turned out to be one of the biggest Tamil box office hits of 2025.

Speculation is rife that the tonsured avatar might be for their upcoming project, currently referred to as AK 64. Buzz in the industry suggests that Ajith has been offered a staggering ₹180 crore for the film — potentially making it one of the highest salaries ever paid to a Tamil actor. The film, said to be backed by a ₹275 crore budget, is already drawing considerable attention.

Adding more intrigue to the project, reports hint at KGF and HIT 3 actress Srinidhi Shetty being in talks to star opposite Ajith. If confirmed, this would mark another major pan-India appearance for Srinidhi, who made her Tamil debut in Cobra alongside Vikram.

In a recent interaction, Ajith shed light on how he’s managing both his passion for racing and his film commitments. “If I can manage a shoot between November and February, I’ll be able to release at least one film a year, while staying active in racing as well,” he shared. His next project is set to begin filming this November, with a tentative release planned for April or May 2026.

Meanwhile, Good Bad Ugly, which marked Mythri Movie Makers’ debut in Tamil cinema, featured a star-studded ensemble including Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, and Priya Prakash Varrier. The film may have had a polarizing reception from critics, but its commercial success speaks volumes about Ajith’s enduring box office appeal.

As fans eagerly wait for official updates on AK 64, Ajith’s transformation and dedication continue to be a major talking point across the Tamil film industry.
