Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently spoke about the underwhelming performance of her last film, Jigra, a prison-break thriller directed by Vasan Bala and co-starring Vedang Raina. Despite high expectations, the movie did not do well at the box office. Now, Alia has shared her thoughts on its failure and how it has motivated her to push forward.
Jigra Release Date
Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra, released in theaters on October 11, 2024, is now available for streaming on Netflix as of December 6, 2024.
Alia Bhatt’s Reaction to Jigra’s Performance
In a conversation with Jay Shetty, Alia was asked about her dreams. She expressed her deep passion for acting and producing, stating that her ambitions never stop growing. She also revealed how Jigra’s failure has inspired her to work harder.
“I don’t think I’m ever comfortable, and I really like that about my mind. I had a film released last year that didn’t do really well, and that’s given me a new vigor for a new dream to try and do over. It’s something I feel very charged by,” she said.
Director Vasan Bala on the Film’s Failure
Director Vasan Bala also spoke about Jigra’s box office performance in an interview with Fever FM. He took responsibility for the film’s outcome and stressed the importance of understanding why it did not connect with audiences.
“This is why I need to analyze. Kuch toh hua hai na (Something has happened, right)? Something made people stay away, something they didn’t feel the need to watch in theaters. If an actor gives their time, it should be worth it,” he said.
