Alia Bhatt celebrated filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali birthday in Mumbai on Monday evening, joined by her Love and War co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The actress shared a glimpse of the celebration on Instagram, posting a photo of a large birthday cake. In her caption, she also congratulated Vicky for the massive success of his recent film Chhaava.
In the photo, Alia smiles alongside Bhansali, who is seated between Vicky and Ranbir. A chocolate cake sits before them, adorned with “Happy Birthday” written on it and two candles. A second image captured Vicky seemingly taking a piece of cake.
Alia’s caption read: “A quick break from night shoots to celebrate our director (sparkles emoji). Happy birthday, magician sir (and happy 3 to our Gangu too) & lastly, many cheers for @vickykaushal09 absolutely smashing the box office with Chhaava!!! Chalo abhi (So now) party over … back to shoot.”
Alia had previously praised Vicky’s performance in Chhaava through her Instagram Stories, writing: “Vicky Kaushal! What are you????? Cannot get over your performance in Chhaava! @vickykaushal09.”
The historical drama, directed by Laxman Utekar, hit theatres on February 14 and has already become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, earning over ₹300 crore. Chhaava is based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel.
Alia is currently filming Love and War, her second collaboration with Bhansali after Gangubai Kathiawadi, for which she won the National Award for Best Actress. She also has Alpha with Sharvari lined up.
