Nepal APF Club: The Unstoppable Force in Women's Football

The departmental team, Nepal APF Club, has once again proven its dominance in women’s football by winning the ANFA Women’s League title.

In the women’s league, which was played in a format that included a single league, double round super league, playoffs, and a final, APF remained unbeaten and emerged as the champion.

The structure of women’s football leagues in Nepal has never been stable. The system of promotion and relegation is out of the question, and even the league format changes every year.

Sometimes it follows a knockout system, sometimes a double round-robin league, sometimes a single league, and at times, a single league with three different phases featuring different formats. Moreover, every year, there is uncertainty regarding which clubs will participate and what criteria the clubs need to meet.

Regardless of the type of league, the format, the participating clubs, municipalities, or provincial teams, it has almost become a norm that APF will eventually emerge victorious.

In the truest sense, APF is the powerhouse of women’s football and the ‘true champion.’ In the final match of the women’s league held at Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday, APF defeated another departmental team, Nepal Police Club, with a commanding 4-0 victory to claim the title once again.

Previously, APF had won the league in different formats for three consecutive times, and now, they have secured their fourth consecutive title.
