In 2024, Apple once again solidified its dominance in the smartphone market. According to the latest data from Canalys, seven iPhone models made it to the list of the top 10 best-selling phones worldwide. The iPhone 15 takes the number one spot.

Alongside Apple, Samsung also made its presence known in the top 10 rankings. The Samsung Galaxy A15, A15 5G, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra secured places in the list.

The iPhone 15 captured about 3% of the global smartphone sales in 2024, with a total of 1.22 billion smartphones sold worldwide. This means Apple likely sold around 36.6 million units of its older base iPhone models last year. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max were the second and third best-selling phones of 2024.

The Samsung Galaxy A15 took the fourth position, successfully placing in the top five, followed by the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 16. The Galaxy A15 5G came in eighth, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra ranked ninth.

The tenth spot was claimed by the three-year-old iPhone 13. Despite its age, this model still managed to secure 1.5% of global smartphone sales, which equals around 18.3 million units sold worldwide.

This market performance highlights Apple’s continued strength in the smartphone industry, with its new models and older versions still leading global sales alongside a few key competitors like Samsung.
