Dr. Arjun Karki, a senior medical professional and former Vice-Chancellor of the Patan Academy of Health Sciences, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Nepal University.
His appointment was made by the university’s Board of Trustees based on a recommendation from the selection committee formed under the Nepal University Act, 2081.
Dr. Surya Raj Acharya, an expert in public policy and infrastructure development, has been appointed as the Registrar of the university.
According to the law, appointments for both positions were made based on recommendations and approved by the council and the Chancellor.
Nepal University’s highest governing body is the Board of Trustees. Members of the board (excluding ex-officio members) include Dr. Ram Manohar Shrestha, Dr. Shiva Thapa, Dr. Jagadish Chandra Pokhrel, Dr. Bipin Adhikari, Dr. Bimala Rai Paudel, Laxmi Devi Pandey, Engineer Lal Krishna KC, Madhav Prasad Paudel, Rameshwar Khanal, and Chandani Joshi.
