Attack on Bus with Student in Pokhara Leaves 5 Injured

A shocking attack on a bus carrying students happened in Pokhara, leaving five students injured. The incident took place late at night near Chauche, Pokhara, when stones were thrown at the vehicle. Police quickly responded and arrested three suspects connected to the attack.

The arrested include Tilak Bahadur Thapa Magar (48), who works as a bus driver and hails from Chitwan, Manprasad Kharel (30), a bus conductor from Bara, and Rajesh Marhatta (28), a garage worker from Palungtar, Gorkha. A joint police team from Shishuwa and Rambazar police stations made the arrests.

The bus was carrying students from Nepal College of Information Technology, Bal Kumari, Lalitpur. They had been visiting Pokhara and were returning to Kathmandu when the attack occurred around 11:30 PM on the night of Jestha 18.

Police have taken the suspects into custody with a six-day investigation order from the Kaski District Court. They are being investigated for criminal disturbance. This troubling event raises concerns about student safety during travel in the region.
