On Tuesday, WorldLink Communications Limited organized an event in celebration of ‘Safer Internet Day,’ observed globally on the second Tuesday of February each year. This year’s theme was “Together for a Better Internet.” The event focused on raising awareness about the safe and responsible use of the internet, with various programs aimed at encouraging digital safety, especially for children and youth.
While the internet has made life easier in many ways, its misuse has led to several incidents putting lives at risk. To prevent such situations, WorldLink emphasized the importance of promoting safe digital practices among young people. The event was held in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, and similar programs were hosted in over 170 countries around the world.
The event included two discussion sessions on digital literacy, inclusion, and safe internet usage. The first session focused on “Building Digital Literacy and Online Safety in Nepal: Empowering Communities for Safer Internet,” while the second session addressed “Bridging Digital Divides: Promoting Online Safety and Inclusion in Nepal’s Growing Landscape.” Experts and students actively participated in the discussions.
