Ayush Kunwar, a sprinter currently based in the United States, is all set to participate in the 26th Asian Athletics Championships held in Gumi, South Korea. He has traveled directly from the US to compete in this prestigious event.
Ayush will compete in the men’s 100 meters and 200 meters sprint events. He aims to deliver a strong performance and break the national record at the championship.
Nepali Team Overview
The Nepali team comprises six athletes who have already arrived in South Korea to compete. Along with Ayush Kunwar, Shivraj Parki will also participate in the men’s 100 meters and 200 meters races.
Other team members include Mukesh Pal, who will run the men’s 1500 meters and 5000 meters races, and Salim Dewan, who will compete in the long jump event.
On the women’s side, Chandrakala Lamgade will take part in javelin throw and shot put, while Phoolmati Rana will compete in the 800 meters and 1500 meters races.
The team is coached by Ushakarna Chaudhary, who is guiding the athletes during this championship.

This championship participation is part of the broader preparation under “Mission 2026,” which aims to prepare athletes for the 20th Asian Games.
