Edward Berger’s Conclave was the star of the night at the BAFTA Film Awards, taking home four wins, including the prestigious Best Film prize. The film also scooped up awards for Outstanding British Film and Adapted Screenplay.

Matching Conclave’s four wins was Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, which triumphed in Best Director, Leading Actor for Adrien Brody, and Cinematography for Lol Crawley. Netflix’s genre-bending Emilia Pérez had a decent showing, with Zoe Saldaña winning Best Supporting Actress and the film also winning Best Film Not in the English Language. A Real Pain also grabbed two awards: Best Supporting Actor for Kieran Culkin and Original Screenplay for Jesse Eisenberg.

In other highlights, Irish music-comedy Kneecap won Outstanding Debut, while David Jonsson, a rising star in the industry, earned the EE Rising Star Award. Warwick Davis was honored with the BAFTA Fellowship, with Mark Hamill and George Lucas praising his dedication and talent.

Conclave entered the ceremony with the most nominations, 12 in total, including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Actor, and Casting. Emilia Pérez came second with 11 nominations, but Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan biopic went home empty-handed despite six nominations.
