Barcelona and Atletico Madrid played out a thrilling 4–4 draw in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals on Wednesday. Atletico initially took a two-goal lead, but Barcelona, after falling behind by two goals, managed to level the score.
Diego Simeone’s Atletico took an early lead within six minutes with goals from Julián Álvarez and Antoine Griezmann. However, Barcelona responded with goals from Pedri González, Pau Cubarsí, Iñigo Martínez, and Robert Lewandowski.
Towards the end of the match, Marcos Llorente and Alexander Sørloth scored for Atletico. The second leg of the semi-final will take place at the Metropolitano Stadium on April 2. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad will face off in the first leg of the other semi-final.
