Despite swirling rumors about their separation, Ben Affleck had nothing but kind words for Jennifer Lopez during a recent public appearance. The actor spoke warmly of his estranged wife while attending the Los Angeles premiere of The Accountant 2, where both his and Jennifer’s children were present.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Affleck shared his excitement about having all the kids at the event. “It’s a great night. The kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I’m very, very excited. I’m proud of the movie, I love the movie, and I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting,” he said.
Ben Affleck co-parents three children—Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (13)—with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Meanwhile, Lopez, 55, shares 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with her former husband, Marc Anthony.
Reflecting on his current relationship with Lopez and their blended family, Affleck added, “I don’t really read much of what’s said online, but sometimes I feel like people just want to find something negative to focus on. But let me set the record straight—Jennifer Lopez is spectacular. She’s been wonderful to my kids, and we have a great ongoing relationship. I love her kids—they’re amazing. She’s a woman of integrity, and I’m very grateful to her.”
Affleck also opened up about how important the bond with their children has become to him. “The relationships you build with kids in a blended family like this—those are some of the greatest joys of my life,” he said. “I’m doing my best to be a good father.”
A Look Back at Bennifer’s Journey
Affleck and Lopez originally began dating in the early 2000s, capturing headlines as “Bennifer.” The two split just days before their planned wedding. Nearly two decades later, the couple rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022.
However, after just two years of marriage, Lopez filed for divorce on August 20. According to court documents, the couple had been separated since April 26.
Signs of tension surfaced earlier in the year, with reports in May suggesting that the pair were no longer living under the same roof. While Affleck was busy filming The Accountant 2, he was residing separately. Over the summer, they continued to spend time apart, and by June, their shared Beverly Hills home was listed for sale. In July, Affleck reportedly bought a new $20 million property in Los Angeles.
As of now, the two are navigating their divorce, choosing to keep things respectful and amicable—especially for the sake of their children.
