Bhairavam Review

Manchu Manoj is back on the big screen with Bhairavam, a high-energy action drama directed by Vijay Kanakamedala. The movie, a Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Garudan, is set in a rural environment and explores themes like loyalty, betrayal, and justice. Released in theaters on May 30, Bhairavam has already sparked a variety of opinions on social media.

Mixed Feelings from Early Viewers

Some viewers felt the film started strong but lost momentum quickly. One user commented, “Bhairavam begins okay but doesn’t keep the emotions alive. The story had a chance to show deep bonds of friendship and loyalty, but it missed the mark. The comedy falls flat, the songs feel out of place, and Aditi Shankar seems to be included just for the musical sequences. Only a few scenes stand out. Overall, it’s below average.”

Others praised the performances of Manoj and Nara Rohit but criticized the over-the-top acting by Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and the excessive action sequences. A reviewer said, “The film felt below average. Manoj and Rohit did well, but too many fight scenes hurt the story’s impact.”

However, not all feedback was negative. One fan wrote, “Not bad, honestly. The first 30 minutes were cliché, but it took a serious turn after that. Bellam Anna’s performance was impressive.” Another described the film as “a powerful action drama lifted by strong acting and emotional storytelling.”

What Works and What Doesn’t?

Highlights mentioned by viewers include strong performances, intense scenes, good storytelling, and impressive cinematography. On the downside, predictability, slow pacing, and distracting subplots were noted as weaknesses.

About the Film and Cast

In Bhairavam, Manchu Manoj plays Gajapathi Varma, a role quite different from his past characters. Director Vijay Kanakamedala praised Manoj’s “riveting return” to cinema. The film also stars Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas as Seenu and Nara Rohith as Varada. Aditi Shankar, Anandhi, and Divya Pillai play important supporting roles.

Produced by K.K. Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts and presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios, the movie features music by Sricharan Pakala and cinematography by Hari K. Vedantam.

Bhairavam promises action-packed entertainment but has left audiences divided over its storytelling and execution.
