Bhedetar–Ravi–Ranke Road Blocked Again After Reopening

The Bhedetar–Ravi–Ranke road in Dhankuta has been blocked again just a day after it was cleared. Continuous rainfall caused a fresh landslide at Lumphajung in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-5, making the road impassable since Tuesday morning.

Heavy rain last Friday night had already triggered landslides in Danda Bazar, Lumphajung, Kuhibhir, and Dhade Danda. The road had just resumed operation on Monday afternoon after debris was cleared, but a large landslide struck again at Lumphajung during the night.

Local chairperson Jitendra Rumdali Rai confirmed the landslide and advised travelers to use alternative routes until the road is cleared. The road segment between Bhedetar and Dandabazaar is around 12 kilometers long and still under construction. Soil-cutting work is ongoing to widen the road, but landslides occur frequently whenever it rains, leading to repeated closures.
