Church Boys Edge Past Police
On Monday, Church Boys United overcame Nepal Police Club in a hard-fought 1-0 victory. The winning goal came in the 70th minute when Lakpa Pakhrin skillfully converted a long pass from foreign player Abayomi. This victory also helped Church Boys take revenge for their 1-0 loss to Police in the 24th Aaha Rara Gold Cup. Gaurav Shrestha was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his wonderful display against Nepal Police Club and received a cash prize of NPR 11,000.
Three Star’s Victory Over Army
Three Star Club booked their place in the final with an exciting 3-2 win over Tribhuvan Army Club at Sahid Rangasala, Biratnagar, on Sunday. Before that, they had defeated Machhindra FC to reach the semifinals. Despite facing a strong Army side, Three Star held their ground and came out on top. Prashant Laksam Limbu was the star of the match, delivering an outstanding performance that earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award along with a cash prize of NPR 11,000.
The Road to the Final
Church Boys had earlier defeated NRT 2-0 in the quarterfinals, while Three Star secured their semifinal spot after a dominant display against Machhindra FC.
Prize and Awards
The tournament offers NPR 1.1 million (11 lakh) to the winner and NPR 500,000 (5 lakh) to the runner-up. Additionally, individual awards will be presented:
- Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper, and Top Scorer will receive NPR 15,000 each.
- Tournament’s Best Player will be awarded NPR 51,000.
