The Birat Gold Cup Football Tournament is set to begin on Monday at the Shaheed Stadium in Biratnagar. According to tournament coordinator Nabin Rijal, all preparations for the nighttime matches have been completed.
With the theme “Biratnagar for Football Development,” the tournament will feature 10 teams, including two from India. The opening match will be played between Morang FC (the host team) and Southern Samiti Football Club Kolkata.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Rijal announced that the ticket price has been set at Rs 200. He also mentioned that a single ticket can offer benefits worth up to Rs 2,000, including discounts in various sectors.
The winning team will receive Rs 11 lakh, while the runner-up will get Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, the best coach, best goalkeeper, and top scorer will each be awarded Rs 15,000.
For each match, the best player of the game will receive Rs 11,000, while the overall best player of the tournament will be awarded Rs 51,000. The estimated budget for the tournament is Rs 1.35 crore.
