The Armed Police Force’s diving team has recovered the bodies of two individuals from the Narayani River at Gaindakot Municipality–1 in East Nawalparasi.
According to the police, the bodies were identified as 13-year-old Diksha Surpenja and 9-year-old Swapnil Surpenja, both local residents.
They had gone missing while swimming in the river on Chaitra 26. Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of divers led by Armed Police Assistant Inspector Bhup Bahadur Budhathoki was deployed from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 17 Battalion, Chitwan.
The team successfully retrieved Swapnil’s body from a depth of 35 feet at 11:30 AM today, and Diksha’s body from a depth of 50 feet at 12:30 PM, according to APF Deputy Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa.
