A Bolero jeep accident in Sunchhahari-6, Phagam of eastern Rolpa, claimed the life of a passenger and left four others injured. The accident occurred at around 9:30 PM on Thursday when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4889) fell 50 meters off the road near Dhumsi on the Sulichaur-Fagam dirt road.
The deceased, 57-year-old Gaura Roka Magar of Sunchhahari-6, Phagam, passed away during treatment at the Sulichaur Primary Health Center. Police have detained the driver, 29-year-old Dhaniram Gharti Magar of Dhumsi, whose condition is stable.
Among the injured, the jeep’s assistant driver, 35-year-old Til Bahadur Gharti of Dhumsi, sustained serious internal injuries and has been sent to Lumbini City Hospital, Butwal, for further treatment.
Two other passengers, 43-year-old Tek Bahadur Budha Magar of Sunchhahari-7 and 25-year-old Prem Roka Magar of Sunchhahari-6, suffered head injuries and are being treated at the Sulichaur Primary Health Center.
The District Police Office in Rolpa is investigating the incident, informed Police Inspector and spokesperson Rohit Kumar Shahi.
