Bollywood Stars Shine at 2025 Met Gala Celebrating Black Style

The blue carpet dazzled with global glamour as the 2025 Met Gala took over New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Known as one of the world’s most prestigious fashion events, this year’s edition brought together around 450 high-profile personalities from entertainment, sports, tech, art, and fashion.

This Year’s Theme and Spotlight

Centered on the museum’s spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the gala marked a historic first — exclusively celebrating Black designers, with a distinct focus on menswear, something not seen at the Met Gala in over two decades.

Who’s Hosting the Celebration?

Leading the evening were celebrity co-chairs Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, and A$AP Rocky, alongside longtime overseer and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Though named an honorary chair, NBA icon LeBron James confirmed he would not attend due to a knee injury.

Bollywood’s Moment on the Blue Carpet

Indian cinema’s presence was strong this year, with several Bollywood celebrities making impactful appearances:

Shah Rukh Khan made his Met Gala debut in a custom Sabyasachi creation.

Even amidst a sea of international fashion icons — including Diana Ross, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna — Bollywood’s style ambassadors held their own, making the 2025 Met Gala a truly global celebration of Black creativity, fashion, and cultural crossover.
