Nepali football fans are in for something special as Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos is all set to visit Nepal for the third season of the Nepal Super League (NSL).

NSL organizers confirmed on Saturday that the former Real Madrid and Brazil left-back will be a special guest during the tournament. Although the exact date of his arrival hasn’t been revealed, Carlos is expected to be present during the qualifier, eliminator, and final matches, which are scheduled from April 19 to 23.

Bringing Global Glamour to NSL

Known for his explosive free kicks and successful career with Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team, Roberto Carlos will add international charm to Nepal’s growing football scene. His presence is aimed at inspiring young talents and boosting the sport’s popularity in the country.

Message from Roberto Carlos

In a video message shared by NSL, Carlos said:
“Good luck to all the participants in the Nepal Super League… Football brings people together, inspires talents, and turns dreams into reality. It will be incredible to see the growth of the sport in Nepal.”

He added a message for young players:
“Keep working hard and play with joy. You deserve it, you are the future. I’m looking forward to visiting Nepal and experiencing the passion for football in your country.”

Another Legend in 2025

Carlos will be the second football legend to visit Nepal this year. Earlier in March, Italy’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon also visited the country during the KP Oli Cup.

Carlos’ Glorious Career

Carlos represented Brazil in three World Cups and won the 2002 edition held in South Korea and Japan. With Real Madrid, he lifted the UEFA Champions League three times and won La Liga four times.

His upcoming visit is expected to create a wave of excitement and further strengthen the connection between Nepali football and the global game.
