A person has been brutally and inhumanely beaten at the Rising Nepal Rehabilitation Center located in Gaur Municipality–4 of Rautahat.
A video circulating on social media shows the person being severely beaten. In the video, it appears that the person is being struck on the soles of his feet with an object resembling a plastic pipe.
Three individuals are seen holding the victim down while another person beats him on the feet with a stick. The 41-second-long video includes background music, seemingly played to drown out the victim’s cries during the beating.
According to DSP Deepak Kumar Raya of the District Police Office, Rautahat, the video has been traced to a rehabilitation center operated by a local resident in Gaur. “As soon as the video came to our attention, we initiated an investigation,” DSP Raya told The Ritible.
He stated that the operator of the rehabilitation center has been summoned and an investigation has begun. Further inquiries are underway at the District Police Office to determine the facts of the incident.
He added that once the authenticity of the video is verified, legal action will follow.
