BTS Secures 13th Platinum Certification in the U.S., Setting a New K-Pop Record

BTS has once again made history, solidifying their position as the K-pop group with the highest number of RIAA Platinum certifications in the United States. According to the Recording Industry Association of America’s (RIAA) latest update on June 24, four more BTS singles — Run, Blood Sweat & Tears, DNA, and Fake Love — have officially achieved Platinum status, marking over 1 million units in combined sales and streams for each.

With these additions, BTS now boasts a total of 13 Platinum-certified records in the U.S., surpassing all other K-pop acts. Their Platinum collection already includes chart-topping singles like MIC Drop, Boy With Luv, IDOL, and Butter, alongside critically acclaimed albums such as Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: 7, and BE.

The accolades don’t stop there. BTS previously shattered records in 2023 when Dynamite became the first song by a K-pop group to receive a 5× Platinum certification, denoting more than 5 million units sold or streamed.

In addition to their new Platinum titles, the RIAA also granted Gold certifications (500,000 units) to several other BTS hits including Save ME, Spring Day, ON, Black Swan, and Permission to Dance — further expanding the group’s decorated U.S. discography.

Under the RIAA’s criteria, Gold honors are awarded for 500,000 units, Platinum for 1 million, Multi-Platinum for every additional million, and Diamond for an astonishing 10 million units.

These milestones highlight BTS’s unshakable presence in the American music scene and their ongoing global dominance. Their ever-growing list of certified tracks is a testament to both the group’s versatility and the unwavering support of their fanbase, ARMY. From emotional ballads to explosive anthems, BTS continues to prove that language is no barrier when it comes to connecting with hearts worldwide.
