A special event called “China Film Day” will be held in Kathmandu to share experiences and promote filmmaking between Nepalese and Chinese filmmakers. The event is scheduled for January 9.
A delegation of Chinese filmmakers and actors will visit Nepal for the ceremony. The event will be organized jointly by the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy in Kathmandu and the China Film Administration.
During the event, three Chinese films will be screened. A team of three filmmakers, two actors, and Director Su Yang from the China Film Administration will attend the event. The Academy’s President, KP Pathak, said detailed information about the films and artists will be shared soon.
The Chinese delegation will also have discussions with the Nepal Tourism Board about filming opportunities in Nepal. Pathak added that talks will also focus on potential joint film productions between Nepal and China.
The delegation plans to visit filming locations in Kathmandu, including the Kathmandu Durbar Square. The films to be screened and the artists participating will be finalized in the coming days.
The Chinese team will arrive in Kathmandu on January 8 and return on January 10. After they visit Nepal, they will attend a film festival in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Pathak also mentioned that there are plans to hold a film festival in China soon.
