Church Boys United (CBU) emerged victorious in the 7th Bagmati Gold Cup, defeating Machhindra FC 1-0 in the final. The match took place at Jhurjhure, Makawanpur, where Samir Tamang scored the only goal in the 46th minute. His goal came from a rebound after the Machhindra goalkeeper initially saved a shot but failed to clear the ball completely.
CBU fielded a nearly identical lineup as in their previous matches, despite expectations of some changes. Star player Rohan Karki was back on the bench but did not start. On the other hand, Machhindra FC was without their captain Bishal Shrestha, which proved to be a setback. Although Aditya Shakya and Diwakar Chaudhary returned to the squad, the team missed the presence of Sanish Shrestha, a key crosser.
The final, however, was not as thrilling as anticipated due to rainy conditions, which prevented players from performing at their best. Despite the challenges, Church Boys United lifted the trophy and received a grand prize of NPR 10 lakh, while the runner-up, Machhindra FC, was awarded NPR 5 lakh.
