The cold has increased significantly in Dhanusha and other districts of Madhesh due to heavy fog and mist.
Doctors have advised wearing warm clothes and stepping outside only for essential tasks. They also recommend consuming warm, liquid foods to stay healthy.
Children, the elderly, and those with asthma or colds are at higher risk and should take extra precautions, according to Dr. Chandeshwar Mahaseth.
He also warned that cold weather could worsen conditions for people with arthritis or rheumatism. “Avoid morning walks during extreme cold, or wear warm, body-covering clothes if necessary,” he advised.
