Police arrested a couple on Tuesday with 16 kilograms of cannabis at Bhedetar Bazaar in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6, Dhankuta.
The cannabis was discovered during a search of a motorcycle, bearing the registration number Ko 33 Pa 9307, which was heading towards Dharan.
According to the police, the motorcycle rider, 39-year-old Nikendra Rai from Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality-7, Dhankuta, and his wife, 30-year-old Nisha Rai, who was riding as a passenger, were taken into custody.
A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Pradhan from the Area Police Office, Bhedetar, searched and seized the cannabis.
