A couple has died while trying to catch fish using an electric current in Sundarharaicha, Morang.
The victims were 58-year-old Purna Bahadur Limbu and his 52-year-old wife Phoolmaya Limbu from Sundarharaicha Municipality-7.
According to Morang police, the couple died on the spot after being electrocuted under a bridge over the Madeli stream near their home. They were using electricity to catch fish when the incident occurred.
Police said Purna Bahadur had connected wires from an electric pole to the stream. Both were electrocuted around 9:40 AM and died instantly.
Their bodies have been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for post-mortem.
