After an eight-year break from acting, legendary Nepali actor Rajesh Hamal has made a grand return to the silver screen with his latest film Narasimha Avatar . The movie officially released nationwide on Friday and has already drawn large crowds at the box office.
Positive Opening Weekend Response
According to distributor Karan Shrestha, the film saw impressive occupancy during its first two days in theaters—Friday and Saturday.
“Friday morning shows had around 40% occupancy,” Shrestha shared. “But by afternoon and evening, it jumped up to nearly 80%.”
He added that Saturday brought an even more enthusiastic response right from the morning. “Not just in Kathmandu, but shows in other cities also did well. Audiences seem to be really enjoying the movie.”
Hamal Greets Fans at Asta Narayan Hall
On Saturday, Rajesh Hamal surprised fans by visiting Asta Narayan Hall, where more than 1,000 people were watching the film. His unexpected arrival was met with cheers, whistles, and applause from excited fans.
He interacted with the audience, took selfies, and even asked for feedback about the movie. The hall turned electric as people rushed to get close to the superstar.
Dancing on Stage After a Decade
Hamal, who visited Asta Narayan Hall after nearly 10 years, looked thrilled to be among single-screen theatergoers again. He even danced on stage to the film’s song “Accha Lekin Londonko Chisole Samaula,” entertaining the audience with his signature charm.
Speaking to the media after the event, he said, “Meeting fans in a single-screen hall after a decade brought back old memories.”

Narasimha Avatar is produced under the Creative Cine Arts banner, with investment from Nem Maharjan, Deepak Dhakal, Narendra Maharjan, and Dhruva Nyaupane.
