In an interview with Screen, Asit Modi shared his thoughts on the anticipation surrounding Dayaben’s return. “Viewers have been eagerly waiting for Daya Bhabhi’s return, and we plan to finalize her comeback soon. Many people believe that without Dayaben, the show isn’t as enjoyable, and I agree with them. Our team is working hard to fill the void left by her absence, but she will be back soon.”
When probed about Disha Vakani’s return, Asit spoke fondly of her, describing her as “like a sister” to him. He acknowledged the difficulty of her returning to the show due to her personal responsibilities. “We can only hope that Disha Vakani returns as Dayaben. She is very dear to me, and she has family commitments that make her return challenging. We miss her deeply; she was always very dedicated, not just to the show, but also to her co-stars and the entire team. We hope to find someone with the same qualities,” he explained.
Casting News and Auditions for the Role of Dayaben
Earlier in the month, News18 reported that Asit Modi had been searching for a new actress to step into Dayaben’s shoes, with one recent audition standing out. Mock shoots with a promising candidate were underway. After these reports surfaced, rumors began circulating that Kajal Pisal had auditioned for the role. However, Pisal dismissed the claims, stating that while she did audition, things didn’t work out. She also clarified that she is currently focused on her role in Jhanak.
