Death of Worker Following Assault at Rupandehi Brick Factory

A worker at New Kamana Brick Industry, located in Hiragunj, Siyari Rural Municipality–7, Rupandehi, has died following an assault.

The deceased has been identified as approximately 40-year-old Nishthuri Kewat from Gorakhpur, India. Kewat, who was residing with his family in a hut within the industry premises, was assaulted by Krishna Kewat, a 19-year-old tractor driver from Siyari–6.

Nishthuri Kewat sustained serious injuries from the assault and was rushed to Lumbini Provincial Hospital, where he passed away during treatment at 11:30 PM on Thursday night, according to Suraj Karki, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and information officer at the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

DSP Karki further stated that Nishthuri Kewat had injuries on his chest, suggesting Krishna might have struck him with a brick.

Krishna has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway, added DSP Karki.
