Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma are officially divorced. The Bandra family court in Mumbai granted their divorce on Thursday. Their lawyer, Nitin Kumar Gupta, confirmed that the court had accepted their joint petition. “The court has granted the decree of divorce. The parties are no longer husband and wife” he said.

Chahal was seen leaving the court wearing a T-shirt with the words “Be your own sugar daddy.” Dhanashree was dressed in a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and a black face mask.

Dhanashree Verma Loses Temper at Paparazzi

A video of Dhanashree on her way to court has gone viral on social media. In the clip, she is seen getting angry at the paparazzi. She scolded them after a woman fell on the ground due to the crowd.

How the Divorce Rumors Started

Speculation about their divorce began when the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. Dhanashree and Chahal got married in December 2020 in a small ceremony in Gurugram. They met during the COVID-19 pandemic when Chahal approached her for dance lessons.

After four years of marriage, they decided to separate.

Divorce Process and Court Orders

The couple filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025. However, the family court refused to waive the required six-month waiting period. The couple has reportedly been living separately since June 2022.

They later challenged the court’s decision, requesting a faster divorce process. The hearing was scheduled early because of Chahal’s cricket commitments with Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025.

Chahal’s IPL 2025 Journey

Yuzvendra Chahal will play for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025. The team bought him for Rs 18 crore in the November auction. He is the top wicket-taker in IPL history and in Indian T20 matches.

Chahal has played 80 T20Is for India, taking 96 wickets. In the IPL, he has taken 354 wickets in 305 matches. He was a key player for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) from 2014 to 2021 and later joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2022. Since then, he has helped RR reach the playoffs twice in three seasons.
