Disha Salian‘s death has once again become a political issue. Her father, Satish Salian, has accused Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray of being involved in the alleged rape and murder of his daughter.
On Wednesday, Satish Salian said that he had approached the Bombay High Court. He has requested a CBI investigation into Disha’s death and an FIR (First Information Report) against Aaditya Thackeray.
He also claimed that some powerful people tried to cover up the case. His lawyer, Nilesh C Ojha, accused former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh of protecting Aaditya Thackeray and stopping the police from taking action. This was reported by ANI.
Disha Salian’s Death in 2020
Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. In 2023, the Mumbai police created a special team to investigate her death. They concluded that it was an accident.
Who Was Disha Salian?
Disha Salian was a 28-year-old celebrity manager. She worked with famous Bollywood actors, including Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant died by alleged suicide six days after Disha’s death.
Disha had also worked with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan during the movie Jazbaa and actor Varun Sharma before she started managing Sushant Singh Rajput.
The Mumbai police stated that there was no link between Disha’s and Sushant Singh Rajput’s deaths.
Personal Life
Disha lived in Dadar with her parents, Satish and Vasanti Salian. During the COVID-19 lockdown, her fiancé, Rohan Roy, also stayed with them.
Rohan Roy, who is an actor, had bought a flat in Malad West, where he and Disha planned to live after marriage. But this was the same place where Disha died.
In 2020, Rohan Roy reportedly married his co-star Sheen Dass, according to an HT report.
Sources said that Disha was frustrated because some of her work projects were delayed during the lockdown, as reported by India Today.
Her Parents’ Statements
After Disha’s death was ruled accidental, her parents initially said they were satisfied with the investigation. They believed there was no foul play.
However, in his recent plea to the Bombay High Court, Satish Salian claimed that the police closed the case too quickly. He said they ignored important evidence, such as forensic reports, circumstantial proof, and eyewitness statements.
